Time Together

It is so important for couples to make time for each other. Between work, taking care of the house and the kids, couples must find time to take care of each other. For us, we have 3 children so a night out is harder to come by. Whether it’s taking an hour to watch tv at night after the kids go to bed or meeting for lunch during the day, make time for each other. When your relationship is strong you feel as though you can get through anything!

Reflection

In about a month, I will celebrate a pivotal moment in my life. Birthdays are meant celebrate living another year….living another year. I began to ask myself, What was I celebrating?

I created this blog because I have managed to make everyone a priority, but ME! This year I have vowed to create a list of everything I WANT, a bucket list so to speak. For my birthday I plan to cross off at least 3 things from that list. My birthday is all about ME! I know it may sound a little childish, but if I don’t do for me, who will? It’s okay to be selfish. It keeps up sane, and helps create balance.

So here’s to another year older, and another year wiser!!!!

I’ve learned that making a “living” is not the same thing as making a “life.”"-Maya Angelou

Fruit Sponge-cake-Kids Will Love it!

Here’s a lite, healthy snack that my kids LOVE!!!! You’d be surprised how healthy kids will eat if they feel involved in the preparation.

You will need:

A pack of sponge-cake (usually 4)

All the fruit you want (Strawberries, Bananas, Raspberries, etc)

Whipped Cream

Place a sponge-cake on the plate, wash and slice the fruit, let the kids stack it as high as they like! Top it with whipped cream.

Viola!!!!!

Make time for your spouse

It is so important to make time for your spouse! After work, dinner, and homework with the kids I know you’re EXHAUSTED! But it is so important to schedule time when you and your spouse can simply, Enjoy Each Other. Some people say it’s important to have “date night”, but with 3 kids it’s hard for my husband and I to find a sitter for 3, so we’ve come up with a few healthy alternatives. I’ll be posting a few SOON!

I look forward to sharing our ideas and please feel free to shares yours.

Open line of Communication

In a world of video games, television and technology it is important to still spend time as a family. Family time helps to build strong, healthy families. It also helps to establish an open line of communication between the parents and children. Every night my husband and I talk to our children about their day and that gives them the opportunity to tell us about anything that is going on and address any questions they may have. It is important to establish this communication early so they know we are here when the bigger problems arise. We also set one day a week aside to do something as a family!

What is something you do with your family for fun?

Take time for you

Woman are typically the foundation in any household. We are wives, moms, employees, maids, chefs, it is an endless list of responsibilities. But with all the people we take care of on a day-to-day basis why can’t we seem to add ourselves into the equation. Sometimes I just want to be a WOMAN!

Have you ever felt guilty for taking time for yourself? I know I have, and I have to stop and ask  myself, “Why do I feel guilty?” It’s mainly because time to myself takes away from cleaning, cooking, kids, etc, but what I have to constantly remind myself is that just like I make time for everything and everyone else I have to make time for ME as well.
Good Luck Everyone!
Please feel free to share something you do that’s just for YOU!

Take time for YOU!

Taking time for yourself leads to a happier woman. Lately, I’ve been reading more. When the kids go to bed, I’ll submerge myself in my book and enter a world where it’s just ME!  Whatever you like to do, take and hour out the day to do just that! You will be more relaxed, have more energy for everything and everyone else and it will reduce your stress level. So whether your free time is in the evening, or in the morning or even during your lunch time do something just for you!
